Yogurt is not just for drinking

Dear future volunteer,

in this letter, I would love to meet you with someone special. His name is Gregor. Small, brave, and always curious. Gregor.

He has traveled a long way. He carries a suitcase, heavy with questions that have no answers yet. For now, his journey ends here, in Maribor. This is his final stop. He steps off the bus and will stay for some short period, hoping to find a small piece of answer he is looking for.

Maribor is a beautiful city. The people are gentle and kind. They offer him smiles as he walks by. The Drava river flows gently. The swans swim freely. And seems happy. Maribor is a city of bridges, I would say. And bridges bring things together. Gregor feels these bridges connect him to his hometown. This new place feels familiar; it's starting to feel like his own, reminding him of where he came from. He is starting to realise that maybe "home" is just a feeling you carry inside you.

Across a bridge, at Pekarna Magdalenske mreže, he met lovely souls. They welcomed him with open hearts. They even gave him a bike! He loves bikes. When he rides a bike, he always feels like he can fly.

Last month, he helped a lot at the OBRAT gallery. He helped with setting up the exhibition of fun flip books. And, he learned that yogurt is not just for drinking!

He also was helping at the StopTrik festival. Festival of stop motion animations. It was very dynamic and interesting. He met a lot of nice people and discovered a whole new world of stop-motion animation. He fell in love with making puppets from clay and other things. He dreams of creating his own puppet one day. Let's keep our fingers crossed for him!

* Inspired by the play about Gregor, a character who leaves his home and goes to the big city, which we saw at the puppet theatre. Any similarity to real characters is coincidental.
