Dear future volunteer,
does time pass as fast for you as it does here? Only one more month until the end of Gregor's journey. Crazy!
Gregor will remember this May for many interesting, random moments. Reflections. Mixed feelings.
Part of him is very sad because his journey is slowly ending. When he thinks about saying goodbye to the places, the people, and the moments in Maribor, he feels a small, tight knot around his heart. It feels like all his heavy thoughts are sitting in the middle of his chest. But on the other hand, he feels it is time to continue his journey. To move forward. Bravely and slowly into the unknown.
Honestly, it is hard for Gregor to find the right words this month. Especially when he needs to talk about his feelings. I hope you'll forgive him.
Anyways, this month will also be remembered for something very beautiful.
This month, Gregor had the chance to present the results of his work, together with Paula and the participants of the zine workshop. In OBRAT, they presented the zine they worked on together for about two months. They tried to share their perspectives and thoughts on the theme of home, the feeling of belonging to a home, connection to a space, and belonging to a homeland.
Gregor was thinking a lot about his homeland while being here. He often missed being present in his own country and being a part of the change there. With just being present. On the right side. He met some people from his country here, and they shared their perspectives. He hopes that he will be able to contribute with his new view of things. When he goes back home. Even if his thoughts and feelings are mixed. And even if he doesn't have the right answer.
But also, he hopes that, with his small steps, he has still managed to leave a tiny mark in this community here too.
