ESC blog
January was a month full of excitement. The first few days of the year, the streets of Maribor were covered with snow. They were beautiful and special days. I made lots of snowmen and enjoyed the snowy mountains like any other child. Work at the association was calm and easy; we helped prepare OBRAT for the new exhibition, we had a volunteer training session, and we worked with other volunteers on how to promote Besedne Bilke in order to reach more children. We also wrote a proposal for the open call, developing an artistic and social idea I had in mind. I really enjoy having the energy to do new things and try new things. You don't have to do everything perfectly; you just need enthusiasm, dedication, and a little bit of playfulness! In addition, throughout the month, I was working on ESCOMBRO/HOME(LAND), an audiovisual performance we created in collaboration with other volunteers at the Luksuz Festival in Krško. It was a super enriching experience where we had the opportunity to meet many other artists and present a small piece born from dedication and love. I think I've started 2026 with energy and a desire to keep learning here. I feel very lucky.
